KPMG's Andrew Hine named 'Business Adviser of the Year' at IB Consulting Awards
Andrew Hine, head of KPMG's health advisory practice, was crowned 'Business Adviser of the Year' at last night's IB Consulting Awards (Institute of Business) in London. KPMG business adviser Rakesh Majithia was also named as a finalist in the 'Management Consultant of the Year' category. The Awards celebrate the achievements of those in the management and business adviser industry. The judges are drawn from across the public and private sector.
Andrew Hine moved from the NHS into professional advisory services when he joined KPMG in 2004, having previously worked as Director of Policy, Planning & Performance for University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. He was promoted to Partner in 2006.
At KPMG, Andrew's role includes leading major hospital programmes to improve quality, efficiency and productivity, by engaging staff, including senior clinicians in redesigning operational processes, to reduce wasted effort and remove delays in the system. The results include improved quality and safety of care, together with significant financial savings.
Andrew is also responsible for running a two-year programme helping the Department of Health and the NHS to develop new arrangements for health and social care to be organized in a more integrated way which better suits people's needs. The new arrangements are being piloted in 16 areas of England and will result in new services being introduced which are more flexible, responsive and convenient for patients.
Dr Ashley Steel, UK Head of Infrastructure, Government and Healthcare at KPMG said:
"Andrew has adapted extremely quickly to the advisory environment. He is a consummate business person and the feedback he receives from his clients consistently confirms that he is held in the highest regard. Andrew has made an immeasurable contribution to the success of our clients and our business, and I would like to congratulate both him and Rakesh on their achievements at these prestigious Awards.”
