<title>India Direct Tax Code Changes </title>
    <link>http://rd.kpmg.co.uk/WhatWeDo/14635.htm</link>
<description>Indian Government as part of its modernisation and simplification of its tax structure is making two substantial changes in India; namely to introduce Goods and Services Tax regime 1st April, 2010 and a new Direct Tax Code (DTC) twelve months later.

Both changes will transform the way in which foreign investors do business in India. The changes proposed in the DTC will impact the manner in which investments are structured in India and how profits are taxed and repatriated from India. Existing investors, globally, may also need to re-align their investments when exit planning.</description>
