Budget: Cut Corporation Tax to Encourage Investment, urges KPMG

The Government should look at reducing corporation tax to encourage growth.  This could be done by reducing the headline rate or by reducing the tax basis by expanding reliefs etc.  Of course, such changes need to be paid for but there is a lot of economic analysis to support the view that such reductions should be self funding to some degree.

KPMG in the UK is urging organisations not to fall foul of new carbon reduction legislation which takes effect in April. Vincent Neate, KPMG's UK Head of Sustainability, comments as businesses with annual electricity bills of £1 million or more must start measuring and accurately reporting their energy usage and carbon emissions.
